World famous hip-hop producer, and member of the hip-hop duo Big Tymers, Mannie Fresh will be spinning tracks live at the new location of American Wheel and Tire during the celebration event on March 23^rd, 2013.  Mannie Fresh, as part of Big Tymers, had several hit songs with Cash Money Records from 1993 to 2005.

Items to be expected on display for customers to view include the new Lexani rolling showroom along with expanded display areas of American Wheel and Tire mainstays.  This expansion of displays is accomplished due to the additional room available at the new location.

Prizes will be made available throughout the day, open to everyone attending the grand re-opening event, which include a free set of tires, a free set of wheels, free tire alignments and free nitrogen tire fills among many more prizes to be announced closer to the day of the event.  Refreshments such as candy, popcorn and various drinks will be made available for everyone attending the event at no charge. 

The American Wheel and Tire grand re-opening is scheduled for Saturday, March 23^rd, 2013., and is scheduled to run from 9am to 5pm. The event is open to the public. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities.

Be sure to have same tire size, speed rating as not to reduce the handling and performance of your vehicle. Also, make sure your tires are not asymmetric tires, have uni-directional tire tread or staggered fitment. Tires Asymmetrical Design or Uni-designed Tread are specifically designed to be placed on the right or left side only and cannot be rotated. Staggered Fitment tires, mostly used by high performance vehicle have different size tires in front and back.

It is highly recommended to rotate your tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. Be sure to consult your Tire Technician or your Vehicle’s Owner’s Manual before doing any changes. By doing a Tire Rotation, the amount of wear on your tires are distributed evenly. After successfully rotating your tires, be sure to check the tire pressure. Tire pressure as very important after repositioning your tires. Improper tire pressure can affect the performance of you tires, increase gas consumption, premature tread wear.

There are two types of Tire Pressure Monitoring System that are currently available – Direct TPMS and Indirect TPMS. A direct TPMS sensor consists of following main functions requiring only a few external components (e.g. battery, housing, PCB) to get the sensor module which is mounted to the valve inside the tire: Pressure sensor, Analog-Digital Converter, Microcontroller, System Controller, Oscillator, Radio Frequency Transmitter, Low Frequency Receiver and a Voltage regulator (battery management). By employing physical pressure sensors inside each tire, Direct TPMS process and send information to a central processing unit (cpu) in the vehicle. These systems can recognize simultaneously under-inflation in all four tires in any combination. Direct TPMS are specifically designed to cope with temperature changes which influence the tire pressure. The pressure thresholds for the warning activation are usually derived from the manufacturers recommended “cold placard inflation pressures”. In order to transfer the data from a rotating wheel, a direct TPMS use a radio frequency communication channel. The other type of system is the Indirect TPMS which do not use physical pressure sensors. Indirect TPMS determines a deviation of an under-inflated tire due to its higher rotational speed. It is not concrete whether the Indirect TPMS will be accurate enough to achieve the objective of the mandatory regulations.
