Tire Rotation can extend Tire Life
Every day we rely on our vehicle – leisure travels , commute to work, picking up our kids and simple trip to the grocery store. We should keep in mind that our tires carry the most important role and we must not take it for granted.
Most tires are worn out after 15,000 miles. By simply rotating your tires regularly, it extends the life span of your tires. But, first of all, it is important to know if you have mix tires of radial and non radial tires. Radial Tires must be placed on the rear. Similar tire make should be paired on the same axle. Be sure to have same tire size, speed rating as not to reduce the handling and performance of your vehicle. Also, make sure your tires are not asymmetric tires, have uni-directional tire tread or staggered fitment. Tires Asymmetrical Design or Uni-designed Tread are specifically designed to be placed on the right or left side only and cannot be rotated. Staggered Fitment tires, mostly used by high performance vehicle have different size tires in front and back.
It is highly recommended to rotate your tires every 6,000 to 8,000 miles. Be sure to consult your Tire Technician or your Vehicle’s Owner’s Manual before doing any changes. By doing a Tire Rotation, the amount of wear on your tires are distributed evenly. After successfully rotating your tires, be sure to check the tire pressure. Tire pressure as very important after repositioning your tires. Improper tire pressure can affect the performance of you tires, increase gas consumption, premature tread wear.
