imagesHankook Tires is the seventh largest tire company in the world. Hakook Tire was first known as Chosun Tire Company. It was established in 1941 based in Seoul, South Korea it was then renamed Hankook Tire Manufacturing in 1968. ‘Hankook’ means ‘Korea’ in Korean. Hankook Tires is unstoppable and growing. Hankook Tires announces that the company will invest to a multi-million to build factory in Indonesia as part of a to become the 5<sup>th</sup> biggest tire manufacturer in the world. The beginning of the construction of the said project will start this year 2011. The company has its main office in South Korea, and has manufacturing facilities in South Korea, China, and Hungary.

Hankook Tire’s reputation grown worldwide due to its radial tire and bias-ply tire production. Hankook Tires are known for being the company that supplies original equipment tires to big car manufacturers such as Hyundai Motor Company, Toyota Motor Corporations, Ford Motor Company trucks, General Motors Truck, International Truck and Engine Corporation, and others. In addition to producing about 50 million tires annually, Hankook tires also market car batteries, alloy wheels, and brake pads.

Hankook has been synonymous with motorsports. Hankook entered motorsports in Europe, North America, and in Asia. In 2008, Hankook Tires supplied tires for the Prime Race Group that raced in the GT2 class of the American Le Mans Series. In 2007-2009, Hankook supplied tires for IMSA Lites, a support series for the American Le Mans Series. They also supply tires for Hankook KTR team that races in the Super GT and the Asian Le Mans Series. Hankook are the series sponsors of the Scottish Rally Championship. This year, Hankook will be supplying tires for DTM.
